e-mail print friendly

The Fayetteville Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred Monday afternoon at the First Union Bank at 4549 Raeford Road.

According to witnesses, a Hispanic-looking male between 30 and 40 years old walked into the bank shortly after 2 p.m. and approached a teller demanding money. The teller gave the man money, and he walked away.

Police said no one inside the bank at the time was able to provide a mode or direction of travel as the man departed the bank.

An audit will be required to determine the exact amount of money.

No one was injured in the robbery.

Police said the bank security surveillance system caught the robbery suspect on tape.
