Butner Authorities Look For Leads After Bank Robbery

BUTNER, N.C. — Butner Public Safety officers are looking for the person who robbed the Central Carolina Bank at 301 Central Avenue in Butner on Thursday.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, approximately 6-feet tall with a medium to large build.

The suspect had medium-length hair, a rough complexion and a thick moustache that appeared to be real. The suspect was wearing blue jeans, a medium-color, long sleeved 3-button shirt and a white baseball cap with a dark bill.

Anyone with possible information on the suspect is asked to call the Butner Public Safety Criminal Investigations Unit at 919-575-6561.

According to investigators, the suspect entered the bank at 12:13 p.m. on Thursday. He was carrying a large "FedEx"-type envelope, with a note demanding money written on the envelope.

Witnesses said no weapon was displayed. But the note declared that the suspect had a gun.

The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
