Three Suspects Arrested In Durham Home Invasion

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police have made three arrests in connection with a home invasion on Fisk Street early Monday morning.

The suspects have been identified as 19-year-old Antoine Tilley, 28-year-old Lashawn Weaver and 16-year-old Steve Rochelle. All three have been charged with robbery, burglary and shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Other charges against Tilley include resisting arrest, driving with arevoked license and felony hit-and-run.

Weaver was wanted for murder in New York and also for statutory rape in North Carolina.

Weaver and Rochelle also were charged Monday with assisting in armed robbery.

Police say the three suspects and one other unidentified male broke into the home, robbed the occupants and fired shots as they left in a black SUV.

A Durham officer spotted the suspects on Main Street, and a brief vehicle chase took place, ending when the suspects crashed their car on Franklin Street near Alston Avenue in Durham.

Tilley and Rochelle took off on foot, according to police, and were quickly captured.

Police say Weaver remained at the crash scene and initially claimed he was one of the victims. But a check revealed he was wanted for murder in New York.
