Police Investigate Deadly Shooting Near NCSU

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police are looking for answers surrounding a deadly shooting near North Carolina State University Monday evening.

Police found the body of Everett Lee Drayton, 29, around 7 p.m. in the front yard of a home at the intersection of Brooks and Clark Avenues, near Hillsborough Street.

Police believe Drayton was shot during a fight with several people in the neighborhood and then stumbled into the yard where he was found.

Police said Drayton lived on Chamberlain Street, which runs parallel to Brooks Ave.

So far, there are no suspects in the shooting.
