RALEIGH, N.C. — For U.S. Air Force Reservist Bryan Powell and his fiancee, Constance Kruse, the date 11-11-11 will hold special significance. It is their wedding day and Veteran's Day.
It isn't a coincidence that Powell has a military history and is getting married on a day honoring those who have served. The couple won the wedding through Marry Me Military - Wake County, which gave away an all-inclusive wedding for one active military couple on Veteran's Day.

To win, Kruse had to write about their proposal, which took place on July 4, and give reasons why they deserved to win.

"Because we love each other, and you're so cute," Kruse said when recalling the entry.

Powell comes from a military family, so, he said, it is fitting that their wedding is on a day honoring veterans.

"The outpouring of appreciation we're gotten is just phenomenal. It's probably the biggest outpouring of appreciation I've ever seen," he said.

The couple is getting married Friday at North Hills. Wedding vendors, the Perfect Plan and Amazing Grace Event Management, helped pulled it all together.

The couple plans to live in Atlanta.

Operation Marry Me Military was founded by Oak Island Photography and Weddings , an event planner from Oak Island, and several wedding vendors. They hope to one day have affiliates in all North Carolina counties.
