Wake School Board To Consider Future Move For Ninth Graders

Posted Updated

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — More than 2,000

Wake County

students who will enter ninth grade in two years may be moved.

The students are slated to attend Cary and Green Hope high schools.

Overcrowding in the western part of the county is forcing school administrators to think about a change.

Under the plan, Cary High school's ninth graders would be housed at East Cary Middle School.

Green Hope ninth graders would take over the Highcroft Drive Elementary School building.

The school board could vote on the proposal as soon as Tuesday.
