CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Cumberland County deputies have arrested two teenagers in connection with the rape of a 13-year-old girl on Sunday.
Authorities said James "Jake" Morrison, 18, helped a 14-year-old male rape the girl by holding her down while the younger suspect assaulted her.
Morrison is charged with first-degree kidnapping, first-degree rape, and conspiracy. The 14-year-old is charged with rape and faces kidnapping and conspiracy charges.
Investigators said all three teens lived in the same neighborhood. They said the assault happened after the victim went to the house where Morrison lives to use the bathroom.
