ZEBULON, N.C. — A Youngsville man was killed when the pickup truck he was driving crashed into the back of a Wake County school bus Friday morning.
The accident happened just before 6 a.m. on N.C. 96, north of Zebulon.
William Williams Jr., 61, was killed.
"He was on his way to dialysis, so we don't know if there were health issues. We're still investigating," said Trooper James Williams, of the state Highway Patrol.
Authorities said the bus was beginning its run to pick up students for East Wake Middle School.
Two students on the bus and the bus driver were not injured.
Several adults and children witnessed the crash.
