Police Look At Possible Relationship Between Fiance Of Wake Teacher, Other Woman

RALEIGH, N.C. — Court papers indicate that a Cary man whose fiancee was found dead in their home may have had a relationship with another woman.

Cary police obtained a search warrant Aug. 16 for the home of Magalie Lelong. Authorities believe Lelong may have had some kind of relationship with Ian Campbell, who is being charged with the death of his fiancee, Heather Domenie.

Authorities found several items at the home, including a hotel card, receipt, photographs and a Las Vegas magazine called "Bride," which serves as a guide for Las Vegas-style weddings.

According to court papers, two weeks after Domenie was found dead in the home she shared with Campbell, a Cary detective spotted Campbell's car at an apartment on Whispering Falls Run in north Raleigh. Records show Campbell and Lelong left together and met four others at Fins Restaurant.

According to court papers, an employee reports seeing the two together before and says Lelong was playing with Campbell and holding hands.

On July 25, Campbell was the one to call 911 to report Domenie, a teacher at Fred Olds Elementary, was not breathing after apparently choking herself while he was out. A medical examiner's report indicates Domenie was strangled. Last Friday, Cary police charged Campbell in her death.

WRAL has not been able to contact Lelong. Campbell is currently in jail with no bond, awaiting trial.
