RDU International Offers New Stores, Restaurants

RALEIGH, N.C. — Looking for a place to shop? Check out RDU International. The airport now has a variety of new restaurants and stores.
On Friday, the airport held a grand opening for RDU Landing -- a collection of 30 restaurants, retail outlets and newstands.
Even though most shops are beyond the security checkpoint where only ticketed passengers can go, managers say the stores have been well-received.
"Since Sept. 11, the initial reaction was business was awful, but what we've found out with the new security procedures is that people are getting to the airport earlier to get through security, and once they're through security, they have more time to spend shopping and looking at our stores," store manager Jack Mobley said.
Some of the stores include an ACC Shop and the Triangle Cyber Cafe.
