A community meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at St. Joseph's African Methodist Episcopal Church located at 2521 Fayetteville St.
Monday night, a coalition called Triangle Jobs With Justice gave Hillside employees a forum to make a plea for their jobs.
Last month, Durham superintendent Ann Denlinger sent letters to two dozen support staff informing them that they will have to reapply for their jobs.
Denlinger said the staff changes will improve academic performance.
Three employees told the audience at Monday's meeting how they felt about being ask to reapply for their jobs.
Arshad Ali is now a guidance counselor without a school. He wants his job back at Hillside because he said his record speaks for itself.
"We were evaluated by the principal, the assistant principal and probably people we didn't know about. If you look at my file, it is full of commendations, so I don't understand," Ali said.
The coalition plans to lobby the school board and start a letter writing campaign to hopefully enact a policy change.
However, coalition members do not have much time. Hillside High's new principal, Eunice Sanders, is set to roll out her administrative team at the end of July.
Sanders is the school's third principal in three years.
