Both sides argued they want what is best for the students. However, several of Superintendent Ann Denlinger's recent decisions about principal and staff changes have the community up in arms.
Tensions were high and emotions felt as one-by-one, parents defended the Hillside's legacy.
"I am very disappointed in this board to let these things get to the point that it is today," said a parent.
"My interest is in improving the academic performance of the students who come to this school, Denlinger said.
Hillside has had three principals in three years, a high drop out rate and low test scores. Most recently, two dozen staff members were told they have to reapply for their jobs.
Many in attendance believe the school board is the problem and not the school.
