Power Restored To Durham Apartment Complex Damaged By Fire

DURHAM, N.C. — Fire investigators say a dryer is to blame for a fire that damaged three unit of a Durham apartment complex Wednesday.

Fire crews responded to the blaze at the Rolling Hills apartment complex on Poinciana Drive near Roxboro Road just around 5 p.m.

Fire officials said three units were damaged in the fire. They said a firewall prevented the blaze from spreading to three other units.

No one was injured.

Power was shut off to three other units pending an inspection of the electrical system by the city inspector. Duke Power has since restoredthe power.

The Red Cross put up displaced residents in hotels, and provided food and clothing.
