Shaw University President To Retire In December

RALEIGH, N.C. — Shaw University is losing its longtime president.

Dr. Talbert Shaw has decided to step down after heading the university for 15 years. The announcement was made at the close of the university's commencementceremony on Saturday in the Raleigh Conference and Convention Center.

Under his leadership, the university expanded its master's degree program and nearly doubled its enrollment.

Shaw will retire at the end of the year.
