CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Surveillance video released Friday by Charlotte's transportation system shows a woman walking into the path of an on-coming light-rail train Thursday morning. Police said Lakysha Erwin, 31, was seriously injured when the train hit her and flipped her into the air.

In the video, Erwin steps in front of the train as it pulls into the Scaleybark terminal along the 3700 block of South Boulevard.

Erwin was alert and talking to emergency responders before being transported to Carolinas Medical Center-Main, a police officer at the scene said.

None of the 15 people on the train were hurt, but the track was shut down for about two hours Thursday while police investigated the collision.
