RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police said a student at North Carolina State University died from injuries suffered in a wreck near the campus Monday afternoon.
Police said Dustin Ryan Green, 18, of Greensboro died. He was a passenger in a Jeep Grand Cherokee that police said collided with an Acura at the intersection of Avent Ferry Road and Centennial Parkway.
Green was thrown from the car and suffered severe head injuries. Police said he was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the Jeep, Ryan Brandt, 19, of Apex was charged with running a red light. He was treated at WakeMed and released.
Police said the driver of the Acura was not injured.
