Posted — UpdatedWhere were you? Sitting in the parking lot at Office Max in Smithfield when I heard the news
I was in shock like so many others when I first heard the news. I just could believe it. That WE had been attacked for no reason.
I felt such pain and compassion for all of those people and the families knowing that there was nothing that I could do but pray for them.
I wrote a poem about it the next day. It is far from perfect, but I was trying to express how I felt at the time.

the World Trade Center Tower.
busy making money at fast paces.
Two sleek buildings that once stood tall, today they began to crumble and to fall.
people everywhere filled with fear not laughter.
the loss of many innocent all for nothing.
rush to the scene to see what they could do.
the world relies on faith and prayers.
after hearing the President they tried to kill.
they thought they’d hit us in our pockets, with a war declared now we have no choice, we’ll have to kill them with one of our rockets.
Why it happened we may never understand, just know that we are kept in God’s hand.
I guess the time had come for them to leave.
God’s grace be with those that are left behind, this is going to be a long and trying time.
after all it was founded in GOD WE TRUST.
I personally don't believe that my life has been changed by the attacks. But I realize that many people's live have been. And the changes as far as security at the airports etc. have changed, which has it's pros & cons.
