WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — A man who is a firefighter, teacher and 911 operator is accused of sexual crimes involving a teenage boy.
Investigators said Larry Wayne Ellington, 30, was arrested in December for a sex offense involving a child. This time, he faces seven felony counts.
"This particular perpetrator served as a volunteer, a fire prevention and education volunteer, which enabled him to go into certain schools and teach children about fire prevention while being a predator," said Lt. Gary Burrell of the Wake County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say Ellington also had child pornography at his home.
The Wake County Sheriff's Office said it does not know of any other children who may have been abused by Ellington, but the investigation is ongoing. Ellington was released on bond Monday afternoon.
