RALEIGH, N.C. — There is new information on the murder investigation involving former Durham mayoral candidate Mike Peterson.
The state attorney general's office will allow autopsy photos of his wife, Kathleen Peterson, to be released.
Mike Peterson's lawyers had asked that the pictures be sealed until after the trial. He is charged with murdering his wife.
Under North Carolina law, the pictures are considered public record. The only way the autopsy photos can be sealed is through a court order.
