CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The story of the death of UNC-Chapel Hill's mascot six years ago is headed to cable television.
Animal Planet
came to town Friday for the story of Rameses.It will appear on the program called "Busted," which highlights stories of crimes against animals.
Rameses was found slaughtered in the field of an Orange County farm in February of 1996. There was some speculation that the ram was killed as a cruel school prank.
Nine months later, investigators arrested a drifter who said he killed Rameses because he was drunk and hungry.
No word on when the program will air.
