Fort Bragg Proposes Road Changes Near Post

Posted Updated

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Fort Bragg officials want to close the portion of Bragg Boulevard that runs right through post. Officials call it a security issue.

The idea calls for widening Murchison Road to at least six lanes to accomodate increased traffic shifted from Bragg Boulevard.

It also seeks accelerated construction of a section of the Outer Loop linking Bragg Boulevard with Murchison Road.

State and local officials want to study the proposal, but warn that the plan could take years.
