DURHAM, N.C. — Duke researchers claim that the breast cancer drug Femara works better than Tamoxifen.
In a study of postmenopausal women with estrogen-positive tumors, 60 percent of the women taking Femara showed tumor shrinkage after four months on the drug. That is compared to 41 percent of women taking Tamoxifen.
Patients taking Femara were also less likely to need a mastectomy.
