United We Stand Stamp Unveiled In The Triangle

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A new stamp symbolizes American patriotism in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks on our country.

Raleigh police and firefighters witnessed the unveiling of the stamp at the State Capitol Monday morning. Gov. Mike Easley pulled the cloth with the help of the State Postmaster, along with Raleigh's fire and police chiefs.

"To me, coming from New York City and losing my brothers and sisters in the tragedy of Sept. 11, it will always be a reminder to me of the dedication of all our love for our country and of our new, renewed pride in what we do," said Raleigh Police Chief Jane Perlov.
