—  A North Carolina gymnast won two gold medals during the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Athens, Greece, on Tuesday.

Monica Hernandez won gold for her all-around and high beam routines. She captured silver for the uneven bars and vault, and won bronze for the floor exercise.

She competed two days after she developed a small fracture in her foot while practicing.

The World Summer Games continues through Saturday.

This should of been in the headlines. This is such an accomplishment for such a wonderful young woman from our state. This is just an example how the news is more focused on whats wrong in the world instead of sharing the good as openly. Congratulations Monica!!!
