William Coffland Jr. of Whispering Pines is the latest to win a sled from WRAL for correctly guessing the timing and amount of snow in the Triangle.

The contest asks that entrants guess the when snow will accumulate at Raleigh-Durham International Airport and how much the total will be. Guesses count only if they are made at least 24 hours before snow begins to fall. All guesses are cleared out after it snows.

Winners get ice melt, a Flexible Flyer sled autographed by WRAL Chief Meteorologist Greg Fishel, a snow shovel and hot cocoa.

Coffland guessed 7.0 inches for a snowfall starting on Dec. 25. He was the first to predict correctly at Dec. 23 at 12:51 p.m.

Two other entrants guessed correctly after Coffland's entry was in.
