School students in the Triangle have the opportunity to cast a vote on Election Day as part of Kids Voting USA – a private, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization which promotes voter education and participation by focusing on teaching youngsters about the value of their vote.

Durham and Wake counties list polling places where students in Pre-K through 12th grade can vote at the same location with their parents. Students are also offered the opportunity to vote in select schools and online.

The results of the kids vote will be made public later this week.
