DURHAM, N.C. — The North Carolina School of Science and Math in Durham is holding a food drive students hope will set a world record.

Students hope to break a Guinness World Record by becoming the non-charitable organization to gather the most food at one location in 24 hours.

They aim to collect more than 500,000 pounds of food for the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.

The food drive continues until 10 p.m. at 1219 Broad St.
