Raleigh, N.C. — Over 400 Harris Teeter employees and volunteers joined together Sunday at the Raleigh Convention Center to serve free holiday meals to approximately 3,500 people in need.
The Triangle-area residents-in-need were identified by organizations throughout Raleigh including the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, United Way of the Greater Triangle and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern Carolina.
Left-over food was donated to the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and distributed to Greater Triangle emergency soup kitchens, shelters and pantries.
Harris Teeter has hosted the event in Raleigh for seven years.
