New Habitat ReStore opens in Durham

The newest Habitat ReStore in Durham is celebrating its grand opening on Saturday.

The 34,000 square-foot store, located at 5501 Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd., combines the sales operations from the Shannon Road and Geer Street locations.

Habitat ReStores sell gently used furniture, appliances, household goods and construction materials. Proceeds from the stores go to support Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Durham and Orange counties.

The grand opening celebration is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The first 50 shoppers who make a purchase will receive a free gift and all customers get a 10 percent discount on everything in the store.

Donations can be made to the store during business hours on Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free pick-up is also available on large items.
