<b>DURHAM, N.C.</b> — To help children get access to books, Durham Public Schools has partnered with The Regulator Bookshop and Amazon.com to allow members of the community to purchase books at a discount for donation.

The school district has established wish lists of books with each vendor so that donors can make a purchase hassle-free.

A shooting on Monday in an east Charlotte neighborhood killed a deputy with the US Marshal Service and two officers with the NC Department of Corrections. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department announced a fourth officer died from their injuries on Monday night.
