Raleigh, N.C. — Meredith College athletes will have a new surface to play on in coming months.
Contractor Romeo Guest began installation Tuesday of FieldTurf, a synthetic turf system that eliminates the need for mowing, fertilizing, reseeding or watering.
After the turf is complete, the Meredith track will be repaved. The entire projects is expected to take about a month.
The Meredith soccer team will host their first game on the new turf Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. against Guilford College.
