Holiday parade marches through Durham Saturday

Musical entertainment from local performers begins at 2 p.m. at CCB Plaza, 201 Corcoran Street. A parade will follow at 4 p.m. and tree lighting concludes the celebration after darkness falls.

DURHAM, N.C. — The City of Durham will kick off the holiday season Saturday.

Musical entertainment from local performers begins at 2 p.m. at CCB Plaza, 201 Corcoran Street. A parade will follow at 4 p.m. and tree lighting concludes the celebration after darkness falls.

The parade will wind north from the American Tobacco Historic District via Blackwell and Forest streets, ending at Durham Athletic Park.

Parking is available in parking garages and lots in downtown Durham. Free parking will be available at the Church Street Garage located at 109 South Mangum Street. There is also parking available for $2 at the Centre Garage, 300 West Morgan Street, and Corcoran Street Garage, 101 East Corcoran Street.
