Fayetteville reports increase in bus ridership
Ridership on the Fayetteville Area System of Transit (FAST) increased 15.6 percent in the third quarter of 2008.

Ridership on the Fayetteville Area System of Transit (FAST) increased 15.6 percent in the third quarter of 2008, he said.
"You could definitely say this is a welcome trend for the transit system and one we are proud of," Macaluso said.
A federal grant will allow FAST to purchase three more buses, four vans and four mid-sized vehicles soon.
A long-term transportation development plan is expected to be presented to the city council in spring 2009.
