Raleigh, N.C. — Habitat for Humanity is on a mission to build 16 homes in the next seven days across the state.
Five homes are being constructed in Wake County.
Johnnie Mae White described her new home as a long awaited dream come true.
“I’m a single mom working two jobs, two teenage daughters. So it makes me feel excited. I just thank God for it,” White said Saturday.
Other homes will be built in Chatham, Orange, Durham and Pitt counties.
