Students selected for state internships

— One hundred North Carolina college, graduate and law students have been selected for 10-week summer internships with state agencies, Gov. Mike Easley said Tuesday.

“This outstanding group of students will gain hands-on experience in dozens of diverse jobs across state government this summer,” Easley said in a statement. “These opportunities help to prepare our students for the challenges of the global marketplace and encourage public service.”

The N.C. State Government Internship Program, in its 38th year, is coordinated by the Youth Advocacy and Involvement Office in the Department of Administration. This year, 586 students from 70 counties and 109 post-secondary institutions applied for internships.

    Nice list. Helen Baddour of UNC & also of Goldsboro, hmm. Wonder if she is related to Dick Baddour the AD at UNC by chance. I know he's a native of Goldsboro too. Could be, or could not be. If so, it's easy to make the connection. Get in UNC without question and also slip into a paid 10 week State Internship program. Wonder if Dick gave Gov. Mike a call? That's usually how these things work if we're being honest, right? Look closely, when it comes to government, there's always a link or connection somewhere. Never fails.
