Heart diseases can strike infants, children

A routine infant check-up detected a heart murmur in Connor Kell, of Raleigh. Further tests revealed a defect of the aorta near the heart, called coarctation. But with treatment, Connor, now 7, has enjoyed an active childhood, his parents said.
