New start times approved for five Wake schools
Wake County school board members approved new start times for five schools Tuesday night.

Green Elementary experienced the biggest change, starting 50 minutes later at 8:30 a.m. The change was recommended due to new traffic patterns.
Durant Road Elementary will start at 8:30 a.m., a 15 minute change.
Durant Road Middle will start at 8:15 a.m., a 15 minute change.
Kingswood Elementary will start at 9:05 a.m., a 10 minute change.
West Lake Elementary will start at 7:40 a.m., a 5 minute change.
The changes will go into effect in the fall.
Board members also approved a bell schedule for the Vernon Malone College and Career Academy, which will open this fall. The school day will run from 7:25 a.m. to 2:18 p.m.
