Bus carrying New Bern HS band members involved in Wayne County wreck
An activity bus carrying band members from New Bern High School was involved in a wreck early Saturday on U.S. Highway 70 in Wayne County, authorities said.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — An activity bus carrying band members from New Bern High School was involved in a wreck early Saturday on U.S. Highway 70 in Wayne County, authorities said.
The Craven County activity bus was hit by a green SUV at about 2:30 a.m. as it tried to turn from the westbound lanes of U.S. 70 to the eastbound lanes.
According to investigators, the driver of the SUV died. No students on the bus were injured.
The bus was returning to New Bern from Winston-Salem, where New Bern played Charlotte Catholic Friday night in the 4-A State Championship game.
