NC Wanted: Suspect of Benson murder remains at large
Neighbors rushed to a home on West Harnett Street after hearing shots fired on June 1. They found Richard Longmire, 39, dead on the front lawn.

Wright said Longmire and the mother of his children often visited the home to exchange custody of their kids.
“I just went bananas because I saw his body lying there on the ground,” Patrina Wright said.
Authorities said the house was full of people at the time of the shooting.
“Firsthand accounts of making sure all the information is proper is critical, so the police department is doing an exceptional job of doing that,” said Benson Town Manager, Matt Zapp.
