Police: No threat found after report of suspicious package at NCSU

North Carolina State University’s Engineering Building 2 was evacuated Thursday afternoon after a report of suspicious activity, according to a tweet from the school

Students, faculty and staff members were asked to leave the building on at Oval Drive on the Centennial Campus at about 4:15 p.m. while authorities investigated.

NCSU police said K9 teams checked a suspicious item and determined it was not an explosive device and did not pose a threat.

Staff inside the building had self-initiated the evacuation during the evacuation, authorities said.
