RALEIGH, N.C. — Starting Thursday, North Carolina-based LunaPops will be available at 180 Harris Teeter stores in eight states and the District of Columbia, representatives announced Monday.

Four LunaPops flavors - Sea Salt Caramel, Cookies and Cream, Raspberry Chocolate Chip and Rhubarb Lime - will be sold at the supermarket chain. The frozen fruit pop company is known for its use of natural ingredients and artisan methods. They hired a local candy maker to make caramel by hand out of evaporated cane juice for their Sea Salt Caramel pops.

LunaPops started making these frozen treats in the back of its Wilmington store six years ago. In 2011, LunaPops moved its operations to the Piedmont Food and Agricultural Processing Center in Hillsborough. The pops are still made by hand in batches of 28 at a time.

Harris Teeter is headquartered in Matthews, N.C.
