A Nash County woman died Wednesday evening after a head-on collision on the road where she lives, state troopers said.

<b>SPRING HOPE, N.C.</b> — A Nash County woman died Wednesday evening after a head-on collision on the road where she lives, state troopers said.

Ernest William Tyska, 68, of Spring Hope, was driving east on Bend of the River Road, near N.C. Highway 58, around 5:15 p.m. when he crossed the center line, troopers said. His 2009 Chevrolet Silverado struck a 1996 Dodge Caravan.

The minivan driver, Alma Rosa Lopez, 31, died en route to the hospital. Tyska was treated at the hospital for broken bones.

Troopers said the cause of the wreck hasn't been determined. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Troopers planned to consult with the Nash County District Attorney's Office before filing charges.
