Multiple people injured in shooting on East Main Street in Durham

Durham police are investigating a Tuesday night shooting that left three people injured.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating a Tuesday night shooting that left three people injured.

At 8:37 p.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 900 block of East Main Street.

Officers found a man in the 900 block of Dale Street, and he was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two additional gunshot wound victims, both men, were located in the 1100 block of East Main Street. Both victims were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

East Main Street was closed between Laurel Avenue and Morning Glory Avenue until about midnight while officers investigated.

There is no word yet on what may have led up to the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
