Motorcycles, minivan collide in Raleigh

Two people were taken to WakeMed Friday evening after a collision involving three vehicles at the intersection of Tryon and Hammond roads in Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Two people were taken to WakeMed Friday evening after a collision involving three vehicles at the intersection of Tryon and Hammond roads in Raleigh.

A Raleigh police spokesman said a pair of motorcycles traveling parallel on northbound Hammond Road hit a minivan as it turned into their path. The bikers – Timothy Day Croom and Bruce Basil Hemmingway, both of Knightdale – were injured, but their conditions were not released.

The minivan driver, Marilyn Alethea Lloyd, of Raleigh, was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
