— A Carthage nanny accused of stealing from her employers is facing her second arrest in as many months.

Moore County sheriff’s deputies said Tuesday that they received a report last week of larceny by employee in the Carthage area. A woman told investigators that her nanny stole items from her home while working.

Whitney Nicole Blackburn, 24, of the 100 block of Westview Road, was charged with felony larceny by employee. She was held at the Moore County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.

Deputies said they arrested Blackburn April 19 on charges of felony forgery of instrument and uttering a forged instrument. Deputies said the charges were related to checks stolen while Blackburn worked as a nanny for a family in the Southern Pines area.

If you look her up you will notice that she has a history of theft. She even stole from her mother that was dying. Just look up her record.

How about holding off on the fat jokes? The current charge is theft, not eating, and the previous one was forgery.

When you're hungry enough you steal. You seen food prices lately?

@albegadeep so she probably used those forged checks on food

So they hired her to care for their children - and didn't check any references? Didn't do a background check? Barely one month before she "robbed" them, she did the same thing to someone else! It wasn't as if this was in the deep, dark past! What were they thinking - if they were - when they put this person in their home with their children without any kind of reference check?

Why so sad? I guess when you get busted, its not a happy day.

@Common_Sensey Especially when she was just charged back in April for more forgery!

I'm thinking that family came home to an empty refrigerator and the cabinets were probably wiped out of any snack items.
