Moore County man charged with animal cruelty
Moore County sheriff's deputies on Tuesday charged a man with felony animal cruelty.
Posted — UpdatedSheriff Neil Godfrey said his office received a report about a dog that had been killed by its owner. Moore County Animal Control officers found the dog at the owners’ residence, along with evidence that would indicate the animal was beaten to death. Investigators did not provide details about the evidence.
James Damon Black, 33, of West End, was arrested Tuesday. He was held in the Moore County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.
Black is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 14 in Moore County District Court in Carthage.
