The Blue Morpho will be back in force at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham in July.

Museum staff will be releasing 1,000 of the tropical blue butterflies into the museum's butterfly conservatory between July 1 and July 31. The releases are set for 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m., Sundays. Visitors also can learn more about the butterflies and chat with the museum's butterfly house team to learn about what it's like to care and transport the beauties.

This is the second year for A Thousand Blue Butterflies. Check my post from last year for more about the Blue Morpho and the releases. This is a fun opportunity to get up close with these butterflies. A few landed on my kids during our visit.

The butterfly releases are free with admission to the museum, which is $14 and $10 for kids ages 3 to 12.
