SANFORD, N.C. — Debbie Cassidy, 48, of Moncure, died Sunday afternoon when her car ran off Avents Ferry Road in Sanford, rolled over and struck a tree, the Highway Patrol said.
Cassidy's Toyota Camry appeared to have run off the right sight of the road in a curve, Trooper Chris Black said, then come back across the highway, which is also N.C. Highway42, and off the left side.
The car may have been traveling too fast to take the curve, Black said.
Cassidy, who was alone in the car, was dead when paramedics arrived.
The crash happened near 3978 Avents Ferry Road about 3:15 p.m.
