Missing teacher's boyfriend has history of domestic violence
Court records show the man who argued with missing teacher Bianca Tanner and reported her missing on June 8 has a history of domestic violence. Two women took out restraining orders against Angelo Smith Jr.
Posted — UpdatedPolice have said they are treating Tanner's disappearance as a homicide. They investigated a man whom Tanner said threatened her, but have ruled him out as a suspect, according to documents related to the case.
A search of the home that Smith and Tanner shared turned up a belt, cellphones and evidence of blood. Tanner's three-year-old son also told detectives that his mother's boyfriend hurt her in the face, according to search warrants.
Tanner, 31, grew up in Garner and lived in Greensboro before moving to Charlotte, where she had been hired to work on a special project to improve educational opportunities for eight schools.
