Missing Raleigh woman makes contact with family, dad says

Posted March 26, 2013

— The father of a Raleigh woman who hasn't been seen since last week said Tuesday that his daughter has made contact with her family.

Kimberly Bullock Thomas, 45, was last seen Thursday morning at her job in Durham, but she never returned home to her husband and their 16-year-old daughter.

Thomas's father, Jerry Bullock, told WRAL News that she left a voicemail Tuesday on her husband's phone letting him know that she is OK.

Bullock said he hopes she will come home soon.

A Raleigh police spokesman said that after listening to the message, investigators have suspended their investigation of the case.

Personal, this could have been personal had the missing woman handled her exit reasonably.

The woman was reported missing. Her father, husband, daughter did not know where she was, or that she was safe. A simple call with number blocked could have save the media from wasting their and the public's time on her.

I certainly understand why this was a news worthy event, as the authorities were attempting to locate Kim safely and sought information from the general public. However, the details of an obviously sad situation for which so many people are quick to comment and judge without any compassion or understanding of the real problems should NOT be reported. No surprise here. She's about the same age my first wife was when she ran off the rails and decided to go looking for "greener pastures". Don't know if that is what happened here, but it happens. I have the divorce papers to prove it. Hate it for her husband and daughter. They are the ones who will suffer.

Wonder what this is going to do to her daughter? Imagine your mom taking off, with or without a word. People leave all the time without creating head lines.

WTVD reports she was fired from her job the day before and went to try and get it back.

They have "suspended" their investigation......do they know 100% that the message left if actually Kimberly Thomas or is her husband just saying it is her???? This is really strange. So she said she is okay...did she say where she was or did she ask about her child in the message?? Something seems wrong her to me.

glad she hasn't been murdered, but not a very nice thing to do to her family.
